I seem to have been off visiting with the space aliens again, if my lack of posting is any indication. Really, I have no idea what I've been up to, although there seem to be quite a few wrapped (and unwrapped) Christmas presents lying about, as well as a barely decorated tree. The good news is that shopping is pretty much finished. I was lucky to get a lot of it done early. And I'll finish the tree tonight before I go to bed - even if it takes until after midnight. Otherwise, it won't happen, because time is getting tight.
Now, you'd think with a week to go, it would be all good. You would be wrong. In fact, I'm going to lose three critical days, due to jetting off to Boston on Friday. My best friend's daughter is getting married on Saturday, and holiday or not, I wouldn't miss it! So, tomorrow is filled with getting my hair cut, shopping with Cory to help him pick out things for Jim and my mom, and finishing of present wrapping. All this to be followed by Jim's office party in the evening (if he's well enough to go - he's a bit under the weather tonight.) Thursday is all about cleaning the house, doing laundry, and packing. Since I'll be coming home the day before Christmas Eve, and can only hope to arrive on time, and since I'm having Christmas Even dinner here with our family and that of Cory's girlfriend's family, things have to be in good order before I head for the airport. I would have left some cleaning for Jim to do, but since he doesn't feel well at all, it's best not to take any chances.
Oh, and there's knitting going on too, just not as much as I would like. I'm totally stalled on my sweater, because of some directions that don't make sense to me. Of course, straightening them out will have to wait until after Christmas. There's also a sock in progress that I was hoping to have done before leaving for Boston, but it looks like it will be making the trip, as well.
Once Christmas is over, there is going to be another trip, too. Jim and I are going to Arizona for New Year's. He had some free hotel points, and lots of frequent flyer miles, so we decided to take a short vacation. I'm really looking forward to going, but am also wondering what two plane trips in one week are going to do to me!
And because I don't have any knitting photos, I'm showing you a shot I took of Mittens the other day. He loves to look out the window at the birds at the feeder. This is a good one because it really shows off his wonderful, fluffy tail.
In closing, just in case I don't get back before the big day, I'd like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas, . Even if you don't celebrate this holiday, I hope you'll be able to enjoy the spirit of the occasion. Have a cookie, take a walk in the cold with someone you love, and give lots of hugs! Joyous Yule!!!
I LOVE Mittens' tail!!! He's quite the fluffy boy huh? Have fun with all your activities, explains why you haven't been on line much. Have fun in Boston (which you should be home by now and preparing dinner, and have fun in AZ. That will be a nice vaca for the two of you after all this hecticness.

Now THAT. Is a CAT. Honestly, you should save that picture for note cards or some such. I daren't show it to Lilliane; all I need is an adolescent girl cat roaming around pining. {g} Oh, and I see you're "reading" "The Stolen Child". Let me know what you think - I read it during the summer over a long weekend. Interested in your take. Enjoy your travels, and may the merriest and most light-hearted delight fill every corner of your heart and hearth this holiday season!
