Just two days to Turkey Day here in the United States. For the fourth year in a row, I'm NOT COOKING! We've been sucked into the tradition of going to Cory's future in-laws for dinner. I'm a bit meh about the whole thing, but hey, NOT COOKING! I did, however, spend much of today cleaning the house preparatory to the arrival of my mother-in-law tomorrow afternoon. I only see her once a year, for the most part, although this year it will be twice, as she is coming back for Cory' wedding on December 29th. We get along fine, and I always enjoy her visit, so no stress on that front. We usually spend most of the time hanging around the house, which is fine with me - more time to knit!
And speaking of knitting, I've been doing a lot of that. I finished a very nice lace scarf (no photo yet) and Sunday a week ago, this.
- Seed Stitch Cowl from the Holiday 2009 Vogue Knitting magazine. Here's a link to a video Vogue put up about it - warning, music. Mine isn't as stiff looking, I think. This pattern is extremely easy and fast. Really, I made it in about 5 hours.
- Blue Moon Fiber Arts Icelandic in the "Star Sapphire" colorway. I have a skein of the same colorway in Socks That Rock Heavyweight, and I'm thinking matching mittens would be fun.
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving if you are celebrating. I'd say don't eat too much, but I'm not sure that's humanly possible!
