Good and Bad
The good. I finished another small project (not one of the 12 for Mission Possible, though.)
And a goofy picture of me wearing it.

I'm not so great at taking self-portraits in the mirror, and this was the best of the (bad) bunch.
- Do-It-Yourself Peasant Cap. If you are on Ravelry, the link should take you to the page with the pattern.
- Rowan Kid Classic, left over from the sweater I made last year.
This is a really easy pattern. I like the way the tie allows you to make it fit as loose or tight as you want. With the cold weather (and maybe some snow) moving in later this week, I should get a chance to wear it.
The bad. Well, I thought that last night would see the finish of the sweater I've been working on for a while. All that remained was the sewing in of the sleeves. But after the first one was attached, I was very disappointed with it. The seaming was horrible, and while the design calls for a very wide cuff, mine was just too wide. So out it came. This morning, I unraveled it, leaving the other intact for a while while working out what to do. First, I tried picking up around the sleeve opening (the body is knit in one piece) and working down to the cuff. But that pulled the shoulder too far out of kilter, so I bit the bullet, frogged it again, and started from the cuff up, this time using less stitches. So far, it looks good, but it looks like it will be the weekend before it's done. The sweater is very cute, and it's definitely worth the trouble to get the sleeves right. I just hope this time is the last!
In cat news, they are both still fighting whatever virus it is that has laid them low. Socks is almost back to normal, albeit still sneezing. But poor Mittens, who had been doing so well, has had a bad few days. At one point, all he could do is sit with a miserable look on his face, breathing through his mouth. And the herpes virus in his eye kicked in again, too. And he has some epic sneezing fits. But both guys are eating like horses again, and I think the worst is over for Mittens. Hopefully, by this time next week, they'll both be back to full speed. I meant to post this photo the other day, when I was saying how sweet Mittens was when Socks was sick.
Awww. But instead of returning the favor now that Mittens is under the weather, Socks is pressing the advantage and has been tormenting him all day. Socks has finally settled in on the couch, leaving Mittens to enjoy some peace and quiet in the den. It's been a long haul for these little guys, and I know all four of us will be happy when they are well again.
The big news around here is the weather. They are predicting the chance of sleet, freezing rain, and (cue ominous shark music) SNOW on Thursday! By Wednesday afternoon, the grocery store shelves should be bare of milk, bread, and toilet paper. You have been warned! Heh.
Ok, back to sleeve island. Send in the cabana boys.

That has to be the cutest kitty picture I have ever seen! They are so sweet.

Love that hat! Sweet kitties too.

That is a great hat. What a cute picture of the kids. I hope they both feel better soon.

The DIY Peasant Cap turned out beautifully. I like the look of it. I might have to check it out. Sorry about the sweater, but hopefully this time is the final fix.

Oh, nice hat! It looks good on you. That's another thing I've been meaning to make. I hope the kitties will be back to their healthy selves again soon. That's such a sweet picture.

Aww, poor kitties - did I already suggest vitamin E drops? Ask the vet - they gave a new lease on life to our old Othello (he crossed the Rainbow Bridge at the age of 19.5 yrs) That hat is absolutely cunning! (and the *picture* might be "bad", though I don't know by whose reckoning, the face inside it surely is friendly and nice! On Saturday here, by the way, the HIGH temperature of the day is forecast to be ONE DEGEE ABOVE ZERO! One. (1). Next thing you know, we Wisconsinites may have to break out our sweaters!

Cute hat and not a goofy picture at all.

Why would any sane person want milk, bread and t.p when the LYS could be raided?? Of course, I would think that since we have a 6 month supply of t.p., plenty of milk and bread while the yarn stash cries constantly about being thin. I swear!
Snow would definitely help the drought but I'll pray it stays warmer than 32 so y'all are safe down there. ;o)

I'm glad the kitties seem to be doing a little better. That is such a sweet photo!
Our newspeople are just like that too, scaring us every time to gather the supplies (milk, bread, batteries) as if we'll be snowed in for days with no power. They forget that in New England, there are an army of snowplows, and within a few hours the roads are passable to the grocery store, etc. Sheesh.

Awww that is the sweetest picture! Gotta love kitty snuggles.

Don't forget batteries, they always sell out of batteries too. Poor kitties, feel better soon. Oh, did I tell you that I got a kitty for Christmas?

Let's hope they feel better soon!! And while cold weather is nice because it gives you opportunity to wear all your knits, the snow and ice and sleet are NOT!

love the hat!
the boybird is totally jazzed about SNOWdays...
I would be too if I didn't have to be out on the roads
to take him to GOlden Corral and Target....
I'm hoping it waits until FRIDAY so I can stay in and KNIT!
Extra kitty prayers for those ADORABLE supermodels...

I think you look quite lovely in that hat. Good luck with the sleeves on that swater. Looks like the cabana boys will be wearing hats and scarves!
You need to send the kitty pic into cute overload!

I'm glad the kitties are getting better. Hope your sleeve goes easily this time around. Snow and a new hat -- that's gotta be fun! Okay, maybe not, but to this California girl it sounds like a Snow Day -- no work just play! Hope your storm isn't too bad.

Good luck with that snow thing. It's pretty chilly here tonight. I finally flipped the heat on.

Glad to hear that the kitties are improving.
You'd think we live in milder climes the way the weather folk are making such a big deal over every little bit of snow around here this year. Good grief, every snowfall is a storm with dire possibilities. Honestly, we live in western New York state, with an average snowfall of over 100 inches per season (a small amount when compared to other parts of the state), so we really are used to a fair amount of winter around here, but you sure wouldn't know that if you listened to the news folk.
Now then, for y'all down South, it's a different story altogether, but not that much different. Get your supplies (like chocolate and wool) rounded up and snuggle in for the day!

Poor kitties! Sometimes those sneezing fits sound like they're turning themselves inside out. The other day, one of cats had a big sneeze right behind me and scared the **** outta me.
