So, on Sunday, I braved the smoky afternoon air (it was better than in the morning, but only marginally) and walked back to the Arts Festival. My first stop was the student potters booth.
This little vase is only about 6" tall.
And this one less than 4"
I love how the green one has a vintage look. I have mostly blue pottery in my collection, but lately find myself gravitating to the greens. This is the third piece of green pottery I've bought since we moved.
It was fun to wander around the booths again, even finding a few I hadn't noticed on Saturday. One that I had visited, and had been thinking about, provided me with this cutie.
Widdle birdie! (Abouth 4" tall) Awww.
I also bought my son a Pete the Cat print. The artist, James Dean, was there and he signed the print for Cory. I didn't get a photo of it, and it's not on James' site, but it's a picture of Snoopy flying his doghouse, with Pete coming towards him at the controls of a fighter jet. Cory loves Snoopy, and since he's also planning on being a pilot, I thought it was perfect for him. James' newest is a line of penguins walking with Pete, and since Cory is big on penguins, I'll have to get that one for him, too. (It was sold out, so I'll have to look for it on the website.)
But the big Yippe! in the title refers to our having finally settled on a vacation spot. I was leaning strongly toward going to Maine, but then I realized there is a fiber event coming up soon in Colorado. Yup, I'm going to the ESTES PARK WOOL MARKET!!! Yay! We'll fly out a couple of days before, and then while I'm at the festival, hanging with other knit bloggers, Jim can take some hikes. After the festival, we'll move further west for a few days before returning home. I'm so excited (can you tell??) Are you going to be there? If so, let me know!
And finally, another meme. Looks like I might be in trouble!!
I'm working away on my latest scarf, and hopefully will be done by the end of the week, if not before. Then I'm going to give in to my urge to Monkey. I've held it off as long as I could!
