Wonder of wonders, I managed to finish the garter stitch portion of the Latifa scarf - all 76" long of it - and have started on the ruffling. What do you think?
Here's a closeup of the ruffle.
The process of making the ruffle is not hard, just a bit time consuming, but the finished ruffles make me smile. Again, this was a kit, and it didn't specify the plain yarn, but I think it is Garnstudio Silke Tweed. The ruffles are KPPPM. If you like it, you can make your own from the original pattern - Knitty's Latifa.
I also started one of the socks my aunt asked me to knit for my cousins. That way, I won't have to fidget with casting on while I'm on the plane to Florida tomorrow. She told me to use bright colors. I think this fits the bill, don't you? It's Regia 4-ply sock yarn.
Tomorrow, we are off to Naples, Florida for a four-day vacation. Big Jim loves Florida, and we have never been to Naples. I understand it's very beautiful. I know that despite his troubles on the job, he'll still have to spend a few hours a day working. That provides me with an excellent opportunity to cruise for yarn stores. I understand there are several in the area. Sun, sand, and knitting. What's not to like?
Have a great week. I'll be back on Monday.
