Whew, is Typepad slow today, or is it just my server?? Anyway, my cousin is doing fine, just some bruised ribs. Now we just have to hope the insurance adjuster will rule in her favor regarding car repairs. It was a brand new car - less than two weeks old - and I shutter to think what kind of trouble she may be in for.
While I had to spend time yesterday doing "getting ready for the party" things, as well as paying the end of the month bills, I did manage to do some knitting, so that this morning, I was able to finish the second secret Christmas gift. As before, no pictures of the finished product, but here's a close-up of the fabric.
Now, I'm going to start a lace scarf for me, using some pretty soft, soft blue alpaca/silk blend by Blue Sky Alapaca that I bought at Dunwoody Yarn. Easy peasy pattern, if I can remember to do all the YO's. Then I'm going to do a Shape-It Scarf as a Christmas present for my mom with some Dune, also from Dunwoody Yarn. The Dune fiber is not really to my taste, but it's the recommended yarn and I think my mom will like the color. After working on four projects with loopy mohair, I'm ready for some less challenging fibers.
Now back to decluttering the house. The relative hordes start arriving on Friday afternoon, so I have about 2-1/2 days to get this place in shape. The monumental effort is underway! (hee hee)
